MAT 102 (B21)

Professor B. Lecocq
Methods Lectures, Seminar, Practical work, Independent-study
Prerequisites MAT 101 - B13
ECTS

This class aims to help student engineers :
- To understand the notions of a vector plane, a vector line, and basic notions of IRē and IR3
- To formulate and apply the all the laws of magnetostatics in a vacuum
- To know how to manipulate the vector functions of a real variable
- To be able to calculate the length of the arc of a curve
- To be capable of studying a flat curve defined either parametrically or using polar co-ordinates in order to produce a graphical representation
- to recognise polar equations of simple curves.

- Linear algebra - vector calculation
- Vector function values
- The Taylor formula -- Limited developments
- Length of the arc of a flat curve
- Curves defined by parametric representation
- Curves defined by polar co-ordinates
- Classical curves ( lines, circles, connical curves)
