What is this ?

Maisénic is our Hall of Residence. A lot of students of Enic - TELECOM Lille 1 live there. Two possibilities of accommodation : a simple room of 15 m² with toilets (Common showers on each landing) or a studio of 30 m² with kitchen and bathtub.

Where is Maisénic ?

In Villleneuve D’Ascq, not far from the center of the city and near commercial shopping complex.
Access to Enic : 10 minutes by car. Carpools are very common among Enic students.
30 minutes by bus & subway.
20 minutes by bicycle.

Guarded entry 24h / 24h, thorough clean-up of premises, sports and games, areas of leisure activities (learn to play French traditional sports : petanque ;-)
3 big kitchens (seating capacity : 15 places) and two small kitchens fully equipped with :cooker, microwaves grill, refrigerator.
Washing machine, a little cinema of 150 places, 2 TV rooms of 30 places. A Gaming room with ping pong table and foosball. Fully equipped weight rooms. Intranet connection in each room

Studio : 399 € per month

Advantages :

Room rent is charged only when you’re present : it means while on a training course, you don’t have to pay for your room when you’re abroad or in an another city. ATTN: Studios are rented for 12 - month periods regardless of your presence! A stock room in the basement is reserved to put stuff because you need to free your room.
You’re with people from your school so there is always someone for help if you need it.
If you’re a little bit gamer, the network allows us to play amazing games on our LAN (quake, warcraft, UT, Couter-strike…)
The ambiance is totally cool. You learn a new lifestyle which is very good to experience !

Disadvantages :

A little bit far away for the downtown of Lille. When you go out to parties & other things you need to come back by the last bus which is at 0.30 A.M

Residence Halls: costs and services in CROUS

On the USTL campus, there are 5 Residence Halls: H. Boucher, G. Eiffel, G.Bachelard, E. Galois, A. Camus.
The CROUS organisation proposes students accommodations, scholarships, grants, university restaurants.

• Traditional rooms:
Rooms of about 9 m² furnished with washbasin, collective kitchens and toilets. Besides, we can find inside the residence study rooms, Intranet, meeting or leisure activities. The monthly rent is about 115 €..

• Renewed rooms:
Rooms of about 9 m2 furnished with washbasin and kitchen areas, equipped with modernized installations. The monthly rent is about 180 €.

• Studios for one or two persons (T1 or T2) :
Studios from 18 m2 to 35 m2 furnished, with kitchen and in-room sanitary facilities. The monthly rent varies from 250€ to 450 €.

ATTN: These rooms are rented for 12 - month periods regardless of your presence!. Indeed , if you plan doing your training outside Lille, you still have to pay.

Private student residences:

By calling Logementetudiant.fr and thanks to the code, you will be on contact with the manager of the residence concerned.

We can find other possibilities such as roommating or consulting ads or contacting a real estate agent but this last solution is costly.

To eat midday, University of Lille 1 has three unviersity canteens(RU).
Nearest is at five minutes of walk of the ENIC.
The price of a meal is of 2€60, and gives the right to two or three peripherals, as well as a principal dish.

Iit is necessary to buy tickets (of a unit price of 2€60), payable in cheque, species or bank card.
These 3 university canteens also make it possible to eat the evening, between 19H00 and 20H00, at the same price.

The greatest department store is Auchan V2 center, located at the stop of subway Hotel De Ville.
At five minutes of walk of Maisenic they are two other supermarket (smaller), Match and Lidle.

Opening hours :

The library is open from Monday to Friday, everyday, continuously from 9h30 to 18h except on the following days:
On Wednesday at launch time (clothing time: from 12h to 13h).
On Friday (clothing time: 17h).

How to borrow books :

There is a free access to books and, they can also be borrowed (except those that can only be consulted in the library) by those who possess a library card : the books borrowed are recorded in a “banque de prêt”.

The loan is strictly personal and involves the responsability of the reader.
